Hau Mitakoda….hello my friend,
Education is touted as the 'way out of poverty' and as the tool to help people better themselves. Tribal community colleges were established for this very reason but also to provide a 'cultural' based higher education program that meets the needs of our respective community, while reinforcing Dakota values that are rooted in spirituality. In coming to Cankdeska Cikana Community College (CCCC), our students are strengthened by the reinforcement of their cultural identity which, in turn, helps them to be responsible learners with great academic success.
As a tribal, community college, we do a very good job with very limited resources but with the rising cost of education and the current political environment to reduce the national debt, our ability to provide higher education opportunity to those most disadvantaged, is in jeopardy.
I need your help. Higher education is a great investment for supporting individuals who will give back as members of productive and healthy communities. Please consider providing us with a financial gift that will help us meet the needs of our students and our community. CCCC is a non-profit organization so any donation is tax deductible. More information about CCCC can be reviewed on our web site: www.littlehoop.edu that includes audit reports and the 990 form for a non-profit organization.
Relationships and family are the essence of who we are as Dakota people and we look forward to having you as a relative…Your consideration is greatly appreciated.
Mitakuye Oyasin…all my relations.
